The award-winning Fort Gibson High School Yearbook Staff has the responsibility of carrying on the tradition of recording and publishing a chronicle of the school year for both the Fort Gibson High School and Fort Gibson Middle School by annually producing The Tiger yearbook. Students in grades 10-12 who are interested in journalism, photography, and/or graphic design are encouraged to apply for a position on the staff each year. Responsibilities of the FTGHS Yearbook Staff include: developing a yearbook theme, designing the layout of the yearbook, ensuring photo content and composition, setting up page design with the publisher's online program, meeting strict deadlines, securing ad sales, organizing fundraisers, and marketing and distributing the book. The Tiger staff members gain life skills by running an actual business! During the process, they learn team-building techniques, how to work with actual clients, and the importance of meeting actual, mandatory deadlines. Of course, being a part of the staff is also a great way to have fun and to make lasting friendships while being the “keepers of history” for this school and community.
